Green Jersey was quick to begin.  Neddles was slow to begin.  Persuader crossed in soon after the start checking Daintree Destroy.  Daintree Destroy galloped on Select Opal approaching the first turn checking Daintree Destroy and severely checking Select Opal which stumbled.  Simbarea galloped on Armadale Lass approaching the first turn checking Simbarea.  Green Jersey and Persuader collided on the first turn checking Persuader and severely checking Green Jersey and Jarrad Keats.  Green Jersey and Jarrad Keats collided several times approaching the home turn checking Green Jersey.

Omega Lucy, Serengeti Sky and Diamond Delight were slow to begin.  Serengeti Sky galloped on Diama Bale soon after the start checking both greyhounds.  Saloon Princess crossed to the rail approaching the first turn severely checking Nimble Lucy.  Nimble Lucy crossed out approaching the first turn checking Daintree Dynamo.  Nimble Lucy, Daintree Dynamo, Diamond Delight and Tai Chi Mini collided on the first turn checking Daintree Dynamo and Tai Chi Mini and severely checking Nimble Lucy.  Daintree Dynamo and Tai Chi Mini collided on the first turn checking Daintree Dynamo.  Serengeti Sky and Diamond Delight collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Diamond Delight raced wide on the home turn.

Nimble Lucy was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left foreleg triceps muscle injury, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Righto Mitch and Motors Too Fast was quick to begin.  Select Racer, Tipping Woody, Emm Kaes Joker and Terra Flash were slow to begin.  Select Racer eased approaching the first turn and subsequently pulled up. Tipping Woody and Motors Too Fast collided on the first turn checking Motors Too Fast and Run Rosie.  Motors Too Fast and Terra Flash collided on the first turn checking Motors Too Fast.

Select Racer was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr. K. Bailey, the trainer of the greyhound Select Racer regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the first turn.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Select Racer with failing to pursue the lure with due  commitment.  Mr. Bailey pleaded guilty to the charge.  Select Racer was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sale and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Rosco Fields and Tambo Flash were quick to begin.  Bankabul, Totally Fab and Westlakes Nez were slow to begin.  Bankabul, Two Dollar Pots and Gym Boots collided approaching the first turn checking Gym Boots. Two Dollar Pots and After Life collided on the first turn checking Two Dollar Pots.  Bankabul checked off After Life on the first turn checking Two Dollar Pots.

Lazza Mikado was a late scratching at 11:09am due to an injury (28 days), sustained at The Meadows on 24/08/2016.  Due to an error the greyhound was not withdrawn from today's event at the appointed scratching time.

Three Scoops was quick to begin.  Shanlyn Frank and Reatily Shintaro were slow to begin.  Dundee Calypso and Shanlyn Frank collided soon after the start checking Shanlyn Frank.  Blue Alcatraz checked off Three Scoops approaching the first turn.  Blue Alcatraz, Don's Collision and Reatily Shintaro collided on the first turn checking Blue Alcatraz, Don's Collision, Dundee Calypso and Shanlyn Frank;  Don's Collision and Dundee Calypso raced wide as a result.  Blue Alcatraz raced wide approaching the second turn.

Dundee Calypso was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right back muscle injury, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Moss, the trainer of Sorry Maurie regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Sorry Maurie last raced on 23/03/2016.  Mr. Moss stated that the greyhound was returning to race following a change of trainer and kennels.

Silver Squiggle and Lonesome Dude were quick to begin.  Shackleton and Cougar Stealth were slow to begin.  Johnny Boy checked off Yorgi Road on the first turn checking Ashtastic.  Shackleton contacted the running rail on the first turn.  Yorgi Road checked off Cougar Stealth on the first turn.  Johnny Boy and Yorgi Road collided several times approaching the home turn checking Johnny Boy and Shackleton.  Cougar Stealth clipped the heels of Silver Squiggle on the home turn and again entering the home straight.

Dr. Balboa was quick to begin.  Don's Racer and Tiger Hugo were slow to begin.  Sheldon Rose stumbled at boxrise and was very slow to begin (6 lengths).  Don's Racer and Dr. Balboa collided on the first turn. Taabinga Sprite and Tiger Hugo collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Dr. Balboa checked off Sheldon Rose on the home turn checking Taabinga Sprite which raced wide.

MEETING COMMENTS:

Satisfactory Trial Results - Zipping Frank trialled over the 440m from box 1, weight 36.3kgs, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 25.30, the greyhound won by a neck.  Zipping Frank was Cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) -  Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Lindrea, the trainer of Gully Fever regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Gully Fever last raced on 23rd November, 2015.  Mr. Lindrea stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a change of trainer and a right wrist injury.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Gully Fever trialled over the 440m from box 8, weight 33.3kgs, the greyhound was placed 2nd in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 25.30, the greyhound was beaten by a neck.  Gully Fever was Cleared.
