Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr. K. Lingard, the trainer of Ya There Joe regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Ya There Joe last raced on 11th May, 2016 and is returning to racing after being on season. Mr. Lingard also declared a new weight of 25.5kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Ya There Joe last raced at 24.4kgs.
Tredgar and Faith No Fear were slow to begin. Little Mix and Hit The Beat collided soon after the start checking Little Mix. Dolly Dyer and Hit The Beat collided approaching the first turn. Tredgar and Ya There Joe collided approaching the first turn checking Ya There Joe. Hit The Beat and Vintage Box collided on the first turn checking Little Mix and severely checking Vintage Box. Ya There Joe, Little Mix, Vintage Box and Faith No Fear collided approaching the home turn checking Ya There Joe and Vintage Box. Vintage Box raced wide in the home straight.
Vintage Box was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left back muscle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. S. Cassar, the trainer of Cacoethes regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Cacoethes last raced on 27th December 2015. Mr. Cassar stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after a broken left shoulder. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Cacoethes trialled over the 390 metre distance from box 8, weight 27.3kgs. The greyhound was placed 3rd, in a field of 5. The time of the trial was 22.62. The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 4 lengths. Cacoethes was cleared.
