Allen Gordy and Dyna Dieter were slow to begin. Cool And Funky, My Lucky Fortune and Motivator Missy collided soon after the start checking My Lucky Fortune. Turkoglu and Escapade Jess collided on the first turn. My Lucky Fortune and Motivator Missy collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. My Lucky Fortune, Turkoglu and Escapade Jess collided on the second turn checking Turkoglu and Escapade Jess. My Lucky Fortune and Motivator Missy collided on the third turn. Cool And Funky contacted the running rail on the fourth turn and lost ground as a result. Turkoglu and Escapade Jess collided approaching the home turn.
