Steward's Report
Born Lightning was quick to begin. Cheap Champ, Kennington Lad and Black Mamba were slow to begin. Premier Gift crossed to the inside soon after the start checking Kennington Lad and Black Mamba, causing Black Mamba to stumble. Nip Of Port clipped the heels of Premier Gift approaching the first turn. Kennington Lad checked off Premier Gift entering the back straight. Born Lightning and Telling You collided approaching the third turn.
Premier Gift was vetted following the event and was revetted. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right shoulder, right triangle and right hock, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Black Mamba was vetted following the event and was revetted. It was reported that the greyhound sustained soreness to the right monkey muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Trainer, Mr T. Cortese and deemed the performance of Black Mamba unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that Black Mamba must perform a Satisfactory Trial, All Tracks, before any future nomination will be accepted.
