Steward's Report

A pre-race sample was taken from Dyna Shinko.

Ruff Edges, Dyna Shinko and Grand Faith collided approaching the first turn.  Golden Hand and Jenkins Bale collided on the first turn checking Golden Hand and Dyna Shinko.  Star Lord, Jenkins Bale and Ruff Edges collided approaching the home turn checking Ruff Edges and Grand Faith, both greyhounds raced wide as a result.  Star Lord and Jenkins Bale collided on the home turn checking Choclotto, Star Lord and Jenkins Bale.  Star Lord and Golden Hand collided entering the home straight checking Star Lord.

Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Ferguson the trainer of the greyhound Ruff Edges regarding his behaviour behind the boxes prior to the start being effected.  Stewards highlighted GAR 51(10)(c) to Mr. Ferguson, which deals with attracting the attention of any greyhound once they have been placed in the starting boxes.  Stewards noted Mr. Ferguson's explanation and took no further action, however reminded him that a repeat of such behaviour in the future may result in stronger action being taken.
