The starting time for this event was put back 3 minutes to 3.30pm at Sky Racing's request.
Mr. T. Whitford, trainer of the greyhound Angel's Chief redeclared a new weight of 30.2kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Angel's Chief last raced at 31.3kgs.
Wicked Unit was slow to begin. Bandsaw, Angel's Chief, Belena Bolt, Locked Out and Remo Coffee collided soon after the start checking Bandsaw, Angel's Chief, Belena Bolt and Locked Out. Bandsaw, Angel's Chief, Belena Bolt and Locked Out collided approaching the first turn checking Angel's Chief and Belena Bolt and severely checking Bandsaw. Angel's Chief and Belena Bolt collided several times from approaching the home turn to the home turn severely checking both greyhounds. Remo Coffee checked off Locked Out on the home turn.
