Spring Trail, Zipping Chubbz and Alpha Aphrodite were slow to begin.
Igor Karkaroff crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Go Vicki. Keeps No Secrets and Zipping Chubbz collided on the first turn. Go Vicki checked off Alpha Aphrodite on the first turn. Spring Trail eased and collided with Go Vicki approaching the second turn checking both greyhounds. Keeps No Secrets checked off Alpha Aphrodite on the third turn.
Stewards spoke to Mr. C. Merciaca, the handler of the greyhound Spring Trail regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the second turn. Spring Trail was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right stopper and left medial thigh injury, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Spring Trail with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment by reason of injury. Mr. C. Merciaca pleaded guilty to the charge, Spring Trail was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trail (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
