Steward's Report
Pursuant to GAR 104(6) Judge S Bonaccourso did not act in any official capacity for this event.
Small one and Zigstar collided soon after the start. Sacred Diamond and Bekim Nikita collided soon after the start. Bekim Nikita and Zigstar collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn. Zigstar and Prancing Magic collided on the second turn. Prancing Magic clipped the heels of Bekim Nikita on the second turn, checking Prancing Magic.
A sample was taken from Cambridge Prince- the winner of the event.
Prancing Magic was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right deltoid, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Small One was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mr. M. Briganti, the trainer of Prancing Magic regarding the greyhound's performance in tonight's event. Mr. Briganti could offer no explanation except that Prancing Magic, in his opinion, races best when in a forward position. Stewards noted his comments and took no further action.
Stewards spoke to Mr. P. Riley, the handler of Small One with regard to the length of time the greyhound has had between racing. Small One last raced on 22nd December 2014. Mr. Riley stated that Small One was a new addition to the kennel and that the trainer Mr. R. Britton has taken some time with the greyhound prior to racing in tonight's event. Stewards noted his comments.
