Senni Richard crossed to the inside soon after the start checking Bletchley and Sisco Bizzy. Sisco Bizzy checked off Magic Rusty approaching the first turn. Magic Rusty, Bull Battle Born and Senni Richard collided on the first turn checking Magic Rusty, Senni Richard and Bletchley and severely checking Sisco Bizzy and Hameshaa. Bull Battle Born, Magic Rusty and Jack's Miss collided approaching the home turn checking Magic Rusty and Jack's Miss; Magic Rusty and Jack's Miss raced wide as a result. Stewards spoke to Mr. N. Wynd, the trainer of Sporto Brian regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Sporto Brian last raced on 31st December, 2015. Mr. Wynd stated that Sporto Brian was returning to race after recovering from a right achilles tendon injury and a change of kennels.
