Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mrs. J. Brouwer, the trainer of Buddy Arrow regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Buddy Arrow last raced on 29th February 2016. Mrs. Brouwer stated that the greyhound was resuming racing following an injury to the right back muscle. Mrs. Brouwer also declared a new weight of 29.3kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Buddy Arrow last raced at 30.5kgs.
A pre-race sample was taken from Brandeen Kimba.
Ain't No Hurry was quick to begin. Buddy Arrow was slow to begin. Emcee, Erica McKenna, Star Deli and Brandeen Kimba collided soon after the start checking Star Deli and Brandeen Kimba. Star Deli checked off Brandeen Kimba approaching the first turn. Brandeen Kimba checked off Jack The Fipa on the first turn. Ain't No Hurry and Emcee collided approaching the home turn checking Ain't No Hurry. Brandeen Kimba contacted the running rail approaching the home turn. Buddy Arrow and Sir Fire raced wide on the home turn and in the home straight. Ain't No Hurry and Jack The Fipa collided in the home straight checking Ain't No Hurry.
Buddy Arrow, which trailed the field throughout the event, was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right quadriceps muscle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Brandeen Kimba was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left monkey muscle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
