Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Davis, the trainer of Tom's Gift  regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Tom's Gift last raced on 19th March 2016.  Mr. Davis stated that  the greyhound was returning to racing following a change of kennel.

This event was delayed by approaximately 4 minutes to allow for Sky commitments to Taree gallops.

Pyrenees Diva and Mai Linh Febey were quick to begin.  Johnny Jaffa and Cullquin Nikki collided soon after the start checking Cullquin Nikki.  Fab Flash and Gobbledegook collided soon after the start checking Fab Flash.  Pyrenees Diva crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Gobbledegook, Johnny Jaffa and Tom's Gift and severely checking Cullquin Nikki, Tom's Gift and Fab Flash; Mai Linh Febey fell as a result.  Gobbledegook, Johnny Jaffa and Bellini Martini collided several times from the first turn to the home turn checking Tom's Gift, Johnny Jaffa and Bellini Martini.  Cullquin Nikki checked off Johnny Jaffa on the home turn.

Mai Linh Febey was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to its right latissimus dorsi muscle, right infrapinatus muscle and right quadriceps muscle.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Jacobs, the trainer of Calvin Candie regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Calvin Candie last raced on 15th February 2016.  Mr. Jacobs stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following an injury to the left front stopper pad.Mr. Jacobs declared a new weight of 32.5kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Calvin Candie last raced at 31.0kgs.

Mr. A. Marum, was fined the sum of $50.00 for failing to ensure the registration papers/card were produced for the greyhound Dilly Allen pursuant to GAR 33.

Stewards spoke to Mr. N. Wynd, the trainer of Sporto Brian regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Sporto Brian last raced on 31st December, 2015.  Mr. Wynd stated that Sporto Brian was returning to race after recovering from a right achilles tendon injury and a change of kennels.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Sporto Brian trialled over the 390 metre distance from box 1, weight 32.9kgs.  The greyhound was placed 2nd in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 22.72.  The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 9.75 lengths.  Sporto Brian was cleared.

Zelemar Zing trialled over the 390 metre distance from box 3, weight 30.9kgs.  The greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 22.72. The greyhound won by a margin of 9.75 lengths.  Zelemar Zing was cleared.

Hot Genetics (Whelping trial) trialled over the 390 metre distance from box 5, weight 26.6kgs.  The greyhound was placed 4th in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 22.72.  The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 14.25 lengths.  Hot Genetics was not cleared.
