Steward's Report
Mr. G. Turnbull, trainer of Jacana, declared a new weight of 27.7kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Jacana last raced at 26.0kg.
To The Choppar and Zero Care Factor collided approaching the first turn, checking Zero Care Factor. Alouette Jack and Zipping Ethan collided approaching the first turn, checking Alouette Jack. Murrabit Betty and Lektra Peck collided approaching the home turn. Zipping Ethan and To The Choppar collided approaching the home turn, checking To The Choppar.
Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Turnbull, the trainer of the greyhound Jacana regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Jacana was vetted and after being re-vetted following event four, it was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left monkey muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Jacana with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Turnbull pleaded guilty to the charge, Jacana was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
