Cracking Joe was slow to begin.  Royal Bruno went up with the lids at box rise and was very slow to begin (3 lengths).  Black Paws and Why Not Becky were quick to begin.  Wolfie's Lass and Bowon Approach collided approaching the first turn, checking Buckle Up Todd.  Wolfie's Lass and Bowon Approach collided on the first turn, checking Bowon Approach and Rock Me.  Royal Bruno, Buckle Up Todd and Bowon Approach collided entering the home straight.  Rock Me raced wide in the home straight.

Label This was quick to begin.  Returned Karma was very slow to begin (7 lengths) and took no competitive part in the event.  Citrus Hand, Canal Court and Purple Hand collided on the first turn, checking Citrus Kiss which raced wide as a result.  Brodie Keeping checking off Label This in the back straight.  Label This checked off Brodie Keeping on the third turn.

Blonde Whylie was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained spike wounds to the left foreleg, a 3 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr T. Howell, the Trainer of Blonde Whylie regarding the greyhounds performance over the concluding stages. Mr Howell stated that after stepping the greyhound up in distance tonight and assessing the performance he plans to return the greyhound back to a more suitable distance in the future. Stewards accepted Mr Howell's explanation and taking into account the injury sustained took no further action. 

Returned Karma was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to E Gemci, the trainer of the greyhound Returned Karma.  Stewards deemed the performance of Returned Karma unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that Returned Karma must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.

A sample was taken from Brodie Keeping - the winner of the event.

Fastnet Kahn stumbled at box rise and lost ground.  Crusader galloped on the heels of No Reply approaching the first turn, checking No Reply.  Chicago George and Sophie's Pride collided approaching the first turn.  Shanlyn Pippin and Ima Wildfire collided on the first turn, causing Laniakea to gallop on the heels of Ima Widfire, severely checking Ima Wildfire, Sophie's Pride and Chicago George.

Show Me Bling and Aston Tadita were quick to begin.  Yorgi and Fear The Boss collided soon after the start.  Dewana Express galloped on the heels of Lady Cyclops soon after the start, checking Lady Cyclops.  Show Me Bling and Aston Tadita collided approaching the first turn, checking Aston Tadita, Fear The Boss, Dewana Express and Horus Gun.  Yorgi checked off Aston Tadita on the first turn.  Dewana Express crossed to the rail on the third turn, checking Yorgi and Aston Tadita.  Dewana Express and Horus Gun collided several times on the home turn.  Delta Bad Hand crossed to the outside entering the home straight and collided with Fear The Boss.  Delta Bad Hand and Fear The Boss collided several times from entering the home stright until the winning post, checking both greyhounds.  Yorgi, Dewana Express and Horus Gun collided approaching the winning post.

Fear The Boss was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr W. McMahon, the trainer of Fear The Boss regarding the greyhounds performance approaching the winning post. After viewing the head on footage and taking into account the interference sustained, Stewards took no further action. 

Stewards also reminded Mr McMahon of his responsibilities after he failed to provide a catcher for Fear The Boss.

Segovia was quick to begin.  Resident Djay, Vancouver Star, Buddy Goode, Hands To Myself and King Farouk collided soon after the start, checking Buddy Goode and King Farouk.  Vancouver Star and Mepunga Laser collided on the first turn.  Hands To Myself and King Farouk collided entering the home straight.  Resident Djay and Mepunga Laser collided entering the home straight.

Fantasy Mcqueen was quick to begin.  Delalicious was slow to begin.  Coogan's Regret and Delalicious collided soon after the start.  Ginger Speed and Zatmine colllided approaching the first turn, checking Yorgi Blues and Ginger Speed, causing Delalicious to gallop on the heels of Ginger Speed.  Fantasy Mcqueen and Quick Step collided on the first turn.  Delalicious checked off Ginger Speed approaching the second turn.  Zatmine checked off Yorgi Blues on the third turn.  Delalicious galloped on the heels of Ginger Speed on the home turn, severely checking both greyhounds and causing Ginger Speed to stumble as a result.

Kokoda Eclipse was slow to begin.  Andy Jay, Fawn Mantra and Cashino collided approaching the first turn, checking Andy Jay and Fawn Mantra.  Kokoda Storm and Amaroo Crack It collided on the first turn, checking Kokoda Storm.  It's A Buzz and Cashino collided on the third turn.  Amaroo Crack it and Azurite collided on the fourth turn.  It's A Buzz galloped on the heels of Cashino in the back straight, causing It's A Buzz to fall, checking Azurite.

Stewards spoke to Mrs S Thompson, the handler of Absolute Power regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Absolute Power last raced on 29 January 2016 and is returning to racing following an injured left triangle.

Dewana Hitman, Good Judge Buddy and Gardsman were slow to begin.  Dr. Shiki crossed to the rail approaching the first turn.  Dewana Hitman, Lawman, Gardsman and Absolute Power collided on the first turn, checking Absolute Power.  Dromore's Pearl and Dr. Shiki collided on the first turn, checking Dromore's Pearl.  Dewana Hitman checked off Dromore's Pearl on the second turn, causing Dewana Hitman and Lawman to race wide, severely checking Good Judge Buddy.  Dromore's Pearl checked off Absolute Power on the third turn.  Dewana Hitman and Lawman collided on the home turn.

Creative Rhythm was quick to begin.  Creative Rhythm crossed to the rail soon after the start, checking Our Miss Penny, Creative Hit and Invienna and severely checking Nudge Nudge which stumbled as a result.  Our Miss Penny and Creative Hit collided approaching the first turn.  Shanlyn Percy and Miss Gracie collided approaching the first turn, checking Miss Gracie.  Invienna checked off Wilbur on the first turn.  Shanlyn Percy checked off Creative Rhythm on the first turn, checking Wilbur.  Shanlyn Percy checked off Creative Rhythm entering the home straight.  Creative Hit raced wide in the home straight.

Bob's Gift was quick to begin.  Wisen Up and Tactical Miss collided approaching the first turn, checking both greyhounds.  Wisen Up and Tactical Miss collided on the first turn.  Snow Mistake and She's Dee Rocket collided on the first turn, checking Snow Mistake and She's Fullboar.  Wisen Up and Tactical Miss collided on the home turn.

Twistex was quick to begin.  Go Go Danni and Thorn And Roses were slow to begin.  Enchanted Lass went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin.  Go Go Danni and Thorn And Roses collided soon after the start.  Enchanted Lass clipped the heels of Thorn And Roses approaching the first turn, causing Thorn And Roses and Max Roxy to collide; severley checking Max Roxy which stumbled and tailled off; Thorn And Roses subsequently fell. Cruiser's Sol and Twistex collided entering the home straight.

Thorn And Roses was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a fractured left radius and ulner and left wrist and was humanely euthanised.

Max Roxy was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained abrasions and spike wounds to the left foreleg and left hind leg, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre race sample was taken from Orange Blossom.

Showgirl Miss was quick to begin.  Da Mishka and Amlin Jewel were slow to begin.  Da Mishka and Tinny Time collided approaching the first turn, checking both greyhounds.  Ringo Dingo checked off Tekki Lightning on the first turn.  Da Mishka and Amlin Jewel collided on the first turn.  Ima Tomahawk galloped on the heels of Showgirl Miss on the first turn, checking Showgirl Miss.  Tinny Time galloped on the heels of Orange Blossom on the first turn, checking Da Miska and Amlin Jewel and severely checking Orange Blossom which raced wide, causing Ringo Dingo and Tekki Lightning to fall.

Ringo Dindo was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a fractured right wrist, a 60 day stand down period was imposed.

Tekki Lightning was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained abrasions to the left and right forelegs, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

MEETING CONDITIONS:

Satisfactory Trial Results - Gats Caviar trialled over the 311m from box 2, weight 24.4kgs, the greyhound was placed 2nd in a field of 5. The time of the trial was 17.95, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 2 1/4 lengths. Gats Caviar was cleared. 

Satisfactory Trial Results - Cool Whipp trialled over the 311m from box 8, weight 34.1kgs, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 5. The time of the trial was 17.95, the greyhound won by a margin of 2 1/4 lengths. Cool Whipp was cleared.
