Track Curator Mr B.Groom advised Stewards that the track was deeply harrowed on 15th July, 2016.

Upon arrival on-course, Stewards inspected the track and deemed the racing surface to be Slow. The track was officially down graded from Good to Slow at 6:19pm.

Miss Pie, Magic Me, Jessie Mae and Proven Mona collided soon after the start checking Magic Me, Jessi Mae and Proven Mona.  Shazza's Gift checked off Bomber Lane soon after the start.  Bletchley raced wide approaching the first turn.  Shazza's Gift and Magic Me collided approaching the first turn.  Nearly Lilly checked off Bomber Lane approaching the first turn.  Nearly Lilly brushed the running rail on the first turn and collided with Jessi Mae, checking Nearly Lilly and Jessi Mae.  Bletchley crossed to the rail on the first turn.  Nearly Lilly and Shazza's Gift raced wide on the home turn.  Nearly Lilly, Shazza's Gift and Miss Pie raced wide entering the home straight.

Smouldering Coal was quick to begin.  Sicario was slow to begin.  Sicario checked off Miss Vane soon after the start.  Hope For Lissy and Chabay Laray collided soon after the start checking Chabay Laray.  Hope For Lissy checked off Marcus Daking approaching the first turn.  Stylish Bree checked off Smouldering Coal on the first turn and collided with Yeah Mint, checking Stylish Bree, Sicario, Marcus Daking, Chabay Laray and Yeah Mint.  Stylish Bree and Sicario collided approaching the home turn checking Stylish Bree.  Stylish Bree, Chabay Laray and Hope For Lissy raced wide entering the home straight.  Stylish Bree and Chabay Laray collided in the home straight checking Stylish Bree.

Janray Anolajean was quick to begin.  Tom's Gift was slow to begin.  Vashta Nerada and Ruby Cabang collided soon after the start checking Vashta Nerada.  Latifi Sam and Miss Jay Dodgers collided approaching the first turn checking Miss Jay Dodgers.  Vashta Nerada eased approaching the first turn and lost ground as a result.  Quick Sensation and Janray Anolajean collided on the home turn checking Janray Anolajean.  Digger Do checked off Tom's Gift on the home turn.  Quick Sensation checked off Digger Do in the home straight and again approaching the winning post checking Quick Sensation and Latifi Sam. 

Vashta Nerada was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. Stewards spoke to Mr S. Divers, the representative of Vashta Nerada.  Mr Divers declined to have the greyhound revetted.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Vashta Nerada with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.  Mr Divers, pleaded guilty to the charge, Vashta Nerada was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Shepparton and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards spoke to Ms. M.Shaw, the trainer of Big Black Rocket regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Big Black Rocket last raced on 31st March, 2016. M. Shaw stated that Big Black Rocket is returning to racing after sustaining a left shoulder injury.

Mrs J Chilcott, trainer of Zero Zephyr redeclared a new weight of 24.5 kg's for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Zero Zephyr last raced at 22.9 kg's (Clearance Trial - Broken Hill, NSW).

Oriental Ginger was quick to begin.  Vanity Affair and Zero Zephyr were slow to begin.  Markom went up with the lids at box rise and was very slow to begin (4 lengths).  Vanity Affair and Too Fly Man collided soon after the start, severely checking Too Fly Man.  Oriental Ginger, Stoppa Bus, Ultimate Matrix and Big Black Rocket collided on the first turn checking Oriental Ginger, severely checking Stoppa Bus and Ultimate Matrix.  Ultimate Matrix checked off Stoppa Bus approaching the home turn.  Stoppa Bus checked off Too Fly Man entering the home straight checking Ultimate Matrix.  Oriental Ginger checked off Markom in the home straight checking Too Fly Man.

Reignlee was quick to begin.  Mr. Alfie was slow to begin.  Cosmic Spur, Kasreyn and Royal Cosmic collided soon after the start checking Kasreyn and Royal Cosmic.  Miss Fox, Tat Duke and Cosmic Spur collided approaching the first turn checking Tat Duke.  Cosmic Spur and All Inn Menphis collided on the first turn checking All Inn Menphis.  All Inn Menphis checked off Royal Cosmic approaching the home turn.  Royal Cosmic raced wide on the home turn and again in the home straight.  Tat Duke and Kasreyn collided on the home turn and again in the home straight.  Reignlee and Cosmic Spur collided in the home straight.  Miss Fox and Mr. Alfie collided approaching the winning post, checking Miss Fox.

Nightwatchman, Yaris Bale and Daliya Bale collided soon after the start checking Yaris Bale and Daliya Bale.  Oriental Tsunami checked off Glitterbug approaching the first turn.  Borris Delight checked off Oaklands approaching the first turn.  Yaris Bale and Daliya Bale collided several times approaching the first turn checking Yaris Bale.  Duomo Bale and Glitterbug collided approaching the home turn checking Glitterbug.

Stewards spoke to Mr G.Kantzidis, the trainer of Toorak Road regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Toorak Road last raced on 19th January, 2016. Mr Kantzidis stated that Toorak Road is returning to race after a right wrist injury.

Elite Shiraz was a late scratching at 9:07pm due to the greyhound being on season (GAR 24).  A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Har and Zuletta collided soon after the start checking Zuletta.  Toorak Road and Clovalley Mauri collided soon after the start checking Clovalley Mauri.  Har and Zuletta collided approaching the first turn checking Zuletta, Toorak Road and Clovalley Mauri.  Har and Violet Blue collided on the home turn.  Hardaway Terror checked off Blazing Spirit entering the home straight.  Har checked off Violet Blue in the home straight.

Time's Up Tom, Wolfpack and All Inn Boston were slow to begin.  Wolfpack and All Inn Boston collided soon after the start.  Woleebee Lad checked off Irish Whip soon after the start checking Woleebee Lad, Royal Knocka and All Inn Boston.  Time's Up Tom and Wolfpack collided approaching the first turn checking Wolfpack.  Wolfpack contacted the running rail on the first turn and lost ground as a result.  Royal Knocka brushed the running rail approaching the home turn and collided with Woleebee Lad.

Wolfpack was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr S.Stefanos, the trainer of Mexican Rush regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Mexican Rush last raced on 2nd March, 2016. Mr Stefanos stated that Mexican Rush was returning to race aftering sustaining a right hock injury.

State Of Oasis was slow to begin.  Avatar Ice and Too Fly collided soon after the start checking Too Fly.  Too Fly checked off State Of Oasis approaching the first turn.  State Of Oasis, No Worries Buddy and Chattering collided on the first turn checking State Of Oasis and Chattering.  Chattering raced wide as a result.  State Of Oasis and Chattering raced wide and collided on the home turn checking Chattering.  No Worries Buddy and Hello Tamara collided entering the home straight.

Vintage Queen and Samba King were quick to begin.  Princess Vintage and Proven Malibu collided soon after the start checking Proven Malibu.  Prestwick checked off Vintage Queen approaching the first turn.  Vintage Queen, Pure Sacrifice, Supervisor and Mister Campo collided on the first turn checking Pure Sacrifice, Princess Vintage and Proven Malibu, severely checking Prestwick, Vintage Queen and Supervisor.  Vintage Queen and Supervisor collided on the home turn checking Vintage Queen.  Proven Malibu raced wide entering the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mr J.Stavropoulos, the trainer of Come On Lassy regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Come On Lassy last raced on 20th March, 2016. Mr Stavropoulos stated that Come On Lassy is returning to racing from a right hock injury.  

Hell On Wheels, Eddie Yap and Hollywood Jones were quick to begin.  Hollywood Jones and Come On Lassy collided soon aftre the start checking Come On Lassy.  Hell On Wheels and Upper Class Lad collided approaching the first turn checking Upper Class Lad.  Mohinga Max and Come On Lassy collided on the first turn checking Mohinga Max.  Gotta Get Back and Eddie Yap collided several times on the home turn.

Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Berry, the trainer of Upper Class Lad regarding his failure to appear at the kennels by the appointed time to retrieve the greyhound for racing. Stewards issued Mr. Berry with a servere reprimand.

A pre-race sample was taken from Jackdell.

Prior to the running of this event Stewards consulted with the Lure Driver whilst inspecting the track and deemed the visibilty too poor to continue racing. This was a direct result from a heavy fog in the immediate vicinity. Subsequently Race 12 was abandoned.
