Steward's Report
Winning Ways was a late scratching at 6:14pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to illness. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.
Hanover Bay was slow to begin. Logistic Kid, Smouldering Coal and Ruby Cabang collided soon after the start checking Ruby Cabang. Logistic Kid, Smouldering Coal and Steady Walker collided approaching the first turn checking Logistic Kid. Steady Walker and Ultimate Matrix collided on the first turn. Smouldering Coal checked off Logistic Kid approaching the home turn. Ruby Cabang, Smouldering Coal and Logistic Kid collided on the home turn checking Smouldering Coal. Smouldering Coal and Hanover Bay collided entering the home straight and in the home straight checking Ultimate Matrix.
Ultimate Matrix was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left and right wrists and the left groin. A stand down period of 5 days was imposed.
A pre race sample was unable to be obtained from Ultimate Matrix on arrival at the course and subsequently a post race sample was taken.
A sample was taken from Moltisanti, winner of the event.
