Meeting comments:
Kennels closed 10 minutes late to allow for a number of trainers who were delayed due to a traffic accident.
Cosmic Blade was slow to begin. Nutcase Sambia and Perpetual Kathy collided soon after the start. Black Pontiac and Nutcase Sambia collided at the 250m mark, checking both greyhounds. Happy Colour and Betty Boo Boo collided at the 250m mark, checking Happy Colour. Nutcase Sambia checked off Perpetual Kathy at the 200m mark. Black Pontiac and Nutcase Sambia collided at the 200m mark, checking Nutcase Sambia which lost ground as a result. Tiger Chien and Happy Colour collided at the 100m mark.
Nutcase Sambia was vetted and after being re-vetted following event five, it was reported that the greyhound sustained grazes to the left hind toe, no stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. P. Romagnino, the trainer of the greyhound Nutcase Sambia. Stewards deemed the performance of Nutcase Sambia unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that Nutcase Sambia must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.
