Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Ms. L. Davis the representative of Strzelecki regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Strzelecki last raced on 21/02/16. Ms. Davis stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a right archillies injury.
A pre-race sample was taken from Karthikeyan.
Tiger Whelan, Dr. Balboa and Phil's In Luck collided soon after the start checking Dr. Balboa. Neville Bale and Strzelecki collided soon after the start checking Neville Bale. Phil's In Luck crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Tiger Whelan and Strzelecki. Neville Bale and Strzaelecki collided approaching the first turn. Neville Bale and Dr. Balboa collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn checking both greyhounds. Dr. Balboa was checked off Neville Bale in the home straight.
Dr. Balboa was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a torn nail on the right front foot, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.
