Bright Flame was quick to begin. Tekki Will Power was slow to begin. Dark Corgi, Fire Stoker and Environmentalist collided soon after the start. Noddy's Knocka checked off Eumeralla Fiona approaching the first turn. Dark Corgi, Environmentalist and Eumeralla Fiona collided on the first turn, checking Fire Stoker, Environmentalist and Eumeralla Fiona. Fire Stoker and Tekki Will Power collided approaching the home turn, checking Tekki Will Power. Environmentalist raced wide on the home turn. Environmentalist, Fire Stoker and Eumeralla Fiona collided in the home straight, checking all three greyhounds.
Eumeralla Fiona was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained spike wound to the left hind. No stand down period was imposed.
Noddy's Knocka was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent inury found. Trainer, Mr F. Meyer declined a re-vet.
Stewards spoke to Mr F. Meyer, the trainer of the greyhound Noddy's Knocka regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) Stewards charged Noddy's Knocka with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Meyer pleaded guilty to the charge, Noddy's Knocka was found guilty and was suspended for 28 days at Horsham and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Stewards issued a warning to Mr W. Frankling, the handler of Eumeralla Fiona regarding the greyhound's racing manners entering the home straight.
