Cruising Panther was slow to begin.
Tricky Tezza and Yessa collided soon after the start checking Yessa. Bobby Dillon and Colac Outlaw collided approaching the first turn checking Bobby Dillon. Yessa, Blue Label and Colac Outlaw collided on the first turn checking Blue Label and Yessa. Yessa and Blue Label collided approaching the home turn checking Yessa. Yessa checked off Blue Label on the home turn checking Bobby Dillon.
Stewards spoke to trainer of High Hopes S. Carswell regarding the greyhound's improved performance. Mrs Carswell stated that the greyhound has only been in their kennel for a short time. A change of diet and recovery from an illness has seen an improvement in the greyhound in recent starts. Stewards noted the explanation and ordered that a sample be taken from the greyhound.
