Hardy's Me Mum and Silvermere were slow to begin.

Bunny Magnet and Domestic Girl collided soon after the start. Domestic Girl galloped on the heels of Bunny Magnet approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds. Bunny Magnet and Domestic Girl collided on the first turn severely checking both greyhounds. Blitzem Cola checked off Silvermere approaching the home turn. Jodiels and Silvermere collided approaching the home turn checking Jodiels. Spring Series, Blitzem Cola and Hardy's Me Mum collided on the home turn severely checking all three greyhounds. 

Bunny Magnet was vetted and revetted following race 4. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right monkey muscle and right pencil muscle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. 

Domestic Girl was vetted and revetted following race 3. it was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right monkey muscle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. 

Riverdale Maggie was slow to begin.

Magic Court and Unloved collided soon after the start. Don's Licker and Go Go Spaghettio collided approaching the first turn. Unloved, Harry Cho, Outlaw Lizzie, Sheoak Red Man and Riverdale Maggie collided approaching the first turn checking Riverdale Maggie, Sheoak Red Man and Outlaw Lizzie and severely checking Harry Cho. Sheoak Red Man raced wide on the home turn.

Infinte Senor, One Five One and Barellen George were slow to begin. 

One Five One and Barellen George collided soon after the start. Phil's In Luck, Smart Business, Miss Wicked and Can Of Coke collided approaching the first turn checking Smart Business, Miss Wicked and Can Of Coke. Derail and Phil's In Luck collided on the first turn checking Derail. Smart Business and Miss Wicked collided approaching the home turn severely checking Smart Business and Can Of Coke. 

One Five One was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury.

Smart Business was required to be vetted following the event. Trainer C. Mercieca had left the track without having the greyhound vetted. A veterinary certificate of clearance will be required by Stewards before any future nomination will be accepted. 

Stewards issued a warning to C. Mercieca regarding his failure to check the "Clearance To Leave Course" form before leaving the track.

Diamond Express was slow to begin.

Amber Diane and Andelven collided soon after the start. It'z Fair Dinkum and Andelven collided approaching the first turn checking It'z Fair Dinkum. It'z Fair Dinkum and Cosmic Elle collided approaching the first turn. Ima Menace and She can Skate collided approaching the home turn checking She Can Skate. Diamond Express and She Can Skate collided approaching the home turn checking She Can Skate. Cosmic Elle raced wide on the home turn. 

Trav Cee went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin. Breust and Don's Pick were slow to begin.

Ain't No Good checked off Da Game approaching the first turn. Da Game and Riverdale Ellie collided on the first turn and again approaching the home turn. Riverdale Ellie checked off Ain't No Good approaching the home turn. Riverdale Ellie checked off Don's Pick entering the home straight. Ain't No Good and Don's Pick collided in the home straight checking Ain't No Good.

Bubble Head was slow to begin. 

Bubble Head and About Two Months collided soon after the start. Baroness Ridge and Georgie Boy collided approaching the first turn. Georgie Boy checked off Baroness Ridge on the first turn. Wild West Stress and Bubble Head collided entering the back straight severely checking Wild West Stress. Georgie Boy and Western Reign collided approaching the home turn checking Western Reign. Wild West Stress and Georgie Boy collided on the home turn checking Georgie Boy. Love Me To raced wide on the home turn. 

Ginto Zac was a late scratching at 1.24 pm by Order of Stewards after it was established that the incorrect greyhound had been presented for racing..  At a subsequent inquiry Stewards charged trainer Mr N. Wynd with a breach of GAR 86(o) for negligently presenting the incorrect greyhound for this event. Mr Wynd pleaded guilty to the charge and was fined the sum of $200.

Adara Lad was quick to begin. Kilty Man was slow to begin. 

Aries Queen and Oriental Blade collided soon after the start checking Aries Queen. Kilty Man and Aries Queen collided several times approaching the first turn and again on the first turn severely checking both greyhounds, Aries Queen tailed off. Steelvision and Wilma's Thunder collided approaching the home turn checking Wilma's Thunder. Wilma's Thunder raced wide on the home turn. 

Aries Queen was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right monkey muscle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. 

Cruising Panther was slow to begin.

Tricky Tezza and Yessa collided soon after the start checking Yessa. Bobby Dillon and Colac Outlaw collided approaching the first turn checking Bobby Dillon. Yessa, Blue Label and Colac Outlaw collided on the first turn checking Blue Label and Yessa. Yessa and Blue Label collided approaching the home turn checking Yessa. Yessa checked off Blue Label on the home turn checking Bobby Dillon.

Stewards spoke to trainer of High Hopes S. Carswell regarding the greyhound's improved performance. Mrs Carswell stated that the greyhound has only been in their kennel for a short time. A change of diet and recovery from an illness has seen an improvement in the greyhound in recent starts. Stewards noted the explanation and ordered that a sample be taken from the greyhound. 

Gunmetal Lad was slow to begin.

Twelve Steps, College Lease, Blonde Man and Gunmetal Lad collided approaching the first turn severely checking College Lease. Blonde Man checked off Gunmetal Lad on the first turn checking Twelve Steps. Runnin' Hot and Mander Lark collided approaching the winning post. 

College Lease was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury. 

Promise Land and Chim Chimney were slow to begin.

El I Am and Chim Chimney collided soon after the start checking Chim Chimney. Promise Land and Iannone collided soon after the start severely checking Iannone. Lynlaw Mal, El I Am and Chim Chimney collided on the first turn severely checking El I Am and Chim Chimney. Dance Craze crossed to the rail in the home straight checking Dark Corgi. 

Iannone was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to both monkey muscles. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. 

Zipping Easey and Spring Steen were slow to begin.

Why Not Bonnie, Not Broken, Front Thomas and Gunmetal Diva collided approaching the first turn checking Why Not Bonnie. First Thomas and Gunmetal Diva collided approaching the home turn severely checking Gunmetal Diva and Spring Steen. Gunmetal Diva and Spring Steen collided approaching the home turn checking Nawala Barko. Gunmetal Diva and Spring Steen collided on the home turn severely checking both greyhounds. 

Lil Stella was quick to begin. Sheoak Mazuri was slow to begin. 

Gelwix checked off Tantra Taz approaching the first turn. Gelwix and Bounda's Storm collided on the first turn checking Bounda's Storm. Sheoak Mazuri, Eaglehawk Yap and Bounda's Storm collided approaching the home turn checking Bounda's Storm. Sheoak Mazuri and Tantra Taz collided approaching the home turn. Sheoak Mazuri raced wide on the home turn checking Eaglehawk Yap and Tantra Taz. Tantra Taz checked off Sheoak Mazuri in the home straight. 

Satisfactory Trial Results -

Miss Nicastro trialled over the 390m from box 1, weight 24.8kgs, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 22.82, the greyhound won by a margin of 4 lengths. Miss Nicastro was Cleared. 

MEETING COMMENTS:

Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. Troy Jacques regarding his failure to have the greyhounds Steelvision and Da Game cleared for racing prior to the greyhounds being nominated. Stewards issued Mr Jacques with a severe reprimand. In determining penalty Stewards took into account the fact that the greyhounds had raced in a Qualifying trial and their nominations had been accepted for today's meeting.
