Steward's Report
Westmead Mouse and Derby Girl were slow to begin. Derby Girl checked off Walter Miti soon after the start. Our Velvet, Sunshine Diva and Conga collided approaching the first turn checking Sunshine Diva. With A Beer raced wide on the first turn and collided with Walter Miti. Derby Girl and Walter Miti collided on the home turn checking Walter Miti. Conga raced wide on the home turn. Derby Girl eased in the home straight.
Walter Miti was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mr. W. Hansen, the handler of the greyhound Walter Miti. Stewards deemed the performance of Walter Miti unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that Walter Miti must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Stewards spoke to Mr. S. Jervies, the trainer of the greyhound Derby Girl regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Derby Girl was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left pencil muscle, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under Gar 68(B)(1), the stewards charged Derby Girl with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Jervies pleaded guilty to the charge, Derby Girl was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
Stewards spoke to Ms. B. King regarding the direction that the greyhound With A Beer be boxed first. Acting under GAR 52(2) Stewards directed that this box first be removed.
