Banana Blanket, Apatchy Bro, Diamond Minx and Tekki Tremor collided soon after the start checking Anika Bale, Banana Blanket and Diamond MInx. Cruisy Limelight checked off Tekki Tremor on the first turn and fell as a result. Anika Bale eased in the home straight and tailed off.

Stewards spoke to Mr. S. Coulson, the representative of the greyhound Anika Bale regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Anika Bale with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Coulson pleaded guilty to the charge. Anika Bale was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Geelong and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted
