In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed ‘Heat Affected’. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 19.6 degrees and the kennel temperature was 15.8 degrees. Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue, as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.

A pre-race urine sample was taken from Bruree Luck. 

Bruree Luck, Henchmen and Scout's Way were quick to begin. Copperhead Dash, Fitzroy Halle and Spirited Sal were slow to begin.

Scout's Way (checked and lost ground at the 200m mark) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left gracilis injury. A 21 day stand down period was imposed.

Bengal Bullet and Keeping Noise were quick to begin.

Keeping Noise (checked at the 150m mark and lost considerable ground) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right gracilis muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Out Of Tricks was quick to begin. Cruising Amy was slow to begin.

Foxy Freckles (visibly eased and turned head outwards approaching the 50m mark) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a injuries to the right and left gracilis muscles, the left long head triceps muscle and shin soreness on the left fore. A 10 day stand down was imposed. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr. Geoff Smith regarding Foxy Freckles' racing manners. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Foxy Freckles was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Smith pleaded guilty to the charge. Foxy Freckles was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Paddy Almighty - New declared weight of 38.4kg, last raced at 36.9kg.

Top Prairie was quick to begin. Asia was slow to begin.

Banora Point and All On Merrett were slow to begin.

Inter Beast Boy – Late scratching at 10:07am due to weight variation (GAR 101). Inter Beast Boy is not permitted to compete for 10 days in any other Event. Trainer, Mr. Tony Interligi, was fined $100.

Torrential was slow to begin.

Master Zorro (lost ground from the 200m mark onwards) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have torn left gracilis muscle. A 60 day stand down period was imposed. 

Clara Stella was quick to begin. Raging Cooper was slow to begin. 

A pre-race urine sample was taken from Highway Hooligan. 

Alice From Venus was quick to begin. 

Stewards spoke to Ms. Kylie Norton regarding the racing manners of My Boy Ted. After hearing submissions from Ms. Norton, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, Stewards took no further action. In arriving at this decision, Stewards were comfortably satisfied that, whilst My Boy Ted shifted out markedly before shifting in over the concluding stages, My Boy Ted's racing manners did not constitute a breach of the rules.

Ricolina Pearl – Late scratching at 7:22am when Mr. Luckie Karabitsakos reported the greyhound to have diarrhoea (GAR 76). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 19(3)(w) before any future nominations will be accepted.

Metal Bender was quick to begin.  Zenvo Yoyo was slow to begin.

Stewards noted Mr. Patrick Newell neglected to wear his handler's bib whilst handling Major Basil. After considering all of the relevant circumstances, In accordance with LR 40.2, Mr. Newell was issued with a warning regarding non–compliance with the GRV Dress Standards.
