Steward's Report
Sachin – Late scratching at 1.12am when Trainer - Mr J. Shaw reported the greyhound to have an illness (GAR 76). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 19(3)(w) before any future nominations will be accepted.
Matchbox was quick to begin. Cranky Joe went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin.
Matchbox Beast (marred Bengal Beast approaching the 300m mark) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left hip injury. A 7 day stand-down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Trainer - Mr. W. Robertson regarding the racing manners of Matchbox Beast approaching the 300m mark. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123, Matchbox Beast was charged with marring. Mr. Robertson pleaded guilty to the charge. Matchbox Beast was suspended for 28 days at Healesville (1st offence) and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post–race urine sample was taken from My Name's Evelyn – the winner of the event.
