Steward's Report
A pre-race urine sample was taken from Cruising Billy.
Scotland Yard was quick to begin.
Cruising Billy underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have abrasions to the right hind leg - no stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Trainer - Mr. B. Pursell, regarding the racing manners of Cruising Billy approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123, Cruising Billy was charged with marring. Mr. Pursell pleaded guilty to the charge. Cruising Billy was found guilty and suspended for 28 days (first offence) at Geelong and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted. Cruising Billy – Ordered to wear an anti–aggression muzzle in all future events in accordance with GAR 131.
Freddy Deeds (catching pen), underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury.
