Race day samples were taken from Highland Warrior, Harvey Intention and Seven Foot Ming at the trainers' kennels earlier today.
Grace Burgess - Due to IT issues the weight was not recorded in Fasttrack. The greyhound weighed 26.2kgs.
Blazing Frankie - Due to IT issues the weight was not recorded in Fasttrack. The greyhound weighed 33.6kgs.
Harvey Intention - Due to IT issues the weight was not recorded in Fasttrack. The greyhound weighed 36.6kgs.
Seven Foot Ming - Due to IT issues the weight was not recorded in Fasttrack. The greyhound weighed 36.9kgs.
Rattle And Bang, Grace Burgess and Blazing Frankie were quick to begin. Highland Warrior, Seven Foot Ming and Primo Tonic were slow to begin.
Highland Warrior (lost ground over the concluding stages) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was re–examined following race 9. Highland Warrior was found to have a lumbo-sacral injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Trainer Ms Kate Gorman (via phone) and representative Mr Matthew Bright regarding the greyhound's overall performance in the event. Stewards noted the betting flucutations of the greyhound from a TAB fixed odds opening price of $2.25 to a starting price of $12. Stewards noted Ms Gorman's explanation. The wagering data of this race will be reviewed. In accordance with GAR 122, the Stewards requested Ms Gorman to report as soon as practicable anything that may have affected the running of the greyhound in the event, which was not noted by Stewards during or immediately after the event.
