Steward's Report
Race day samples were taken from Temper Trap, Best Of Colour, Joy Ride, Oprah Bale at the trainers' kennels earlier today.
Joy Ride and Paw Dimetra were slow to begin.
Zipping Arcee (lost ground over the concluding stages) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have cramped - no stand down period imposed. Acting in accordance with GAR 130, Zipping Arcee was ordered to undertake a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 130, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Paw Dimetra (marred Smokin' Grace entering the home straight) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a small laceration to the left carpus. A 3 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to representative Mr Myles Delbridge regarding the greyhound’s racing manners entering the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123, Paw Dimetra was charged with marring. Mr Delbridge pleaded guilty to the charge. Paw Dimetra was suspended for 28 days at Sandown and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Braemar Fraser (visibly eased turning out of the back straight) underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no injury reported. Stewards spoke to trainer Ms Yvonne Cassidy regarding the greyhound’s racing manners. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, Braemar Fraser was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms Cassidy reserved her plea to the charge. Braemar Fraser was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at all tracks and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Supplementary Report 27/6/24: Trainer Ms Yvonne Cassidy notified Stewards in accordance with GAR 122 that Braemar Fraser attended the Walnut Vet Clinic on 25/6/24 and was found to have a right shoulder sprain which requires a 12-day rest and rehabilitation period.
