Immediately following the event Steward's declared 'hold all tickets' as they were concerned with the position of the lure during the event GAR 55(1). After viewing the DVD replay Steward's were of the opinion that the positioning of the lure approaching the home turn and again on the home turn substantially inconvenienced several greyhounds and effected the outcome of the event. In accordance with GAR 56(1)Steward's declared this event to be a no race. Steward's conducted a random draw to decide the greyhounds to go through to the semi finals of the GRV VBIS Maiden Series next Tuesday. The greyhounds to go through are: (1) Los Alamos (2) Smokey Yunick (3) Yardbird (4) Boris Fields (5) Mr. Rumby. Steward's spoke to the lure driver Mr. M. Bickerdike regarding this incident. Mr. Bickerdike stated that there had been a new lure cable installed the previous day and he felt that it was slipping. Mr. Bickerdike also stated that he had misjudged the speed of the lure as a result. Steward's noted his explanation and reminded him of his responsibilities.
