Steward's Report
Smurf's Zandra, Hades Jet, Thalkirken and Tom Tukan collided soon after the start checking Smurf's Zandra. Tough Defender and Tigery Rose collided soon after the start checking Tough Defender. Hades Jet crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Aldus Bale and Tigery Rose. Tough Defender and Tigery Rose collided on the first turn checking Tigery Rose. Aldus Bale, Smurf's Zandra, Thalkirken and Up And Gone collided on the first turn checking Aldus Bale and Smurf's Zandra. Thalkirken and Up And Gone collided approaching the second turn and again entering the back straight. Aldus Bale and Up And Gone collided in the home straight. Thalkirken eased in the home straight.
Thalkirken was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left hind graze, a 3 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr.M.Patching the trainer of Thalkirken and issued a warning regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.
Stewards deemed the performance of Thalkirken unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that Thalkirken must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.
