Natural Queen was very slow out. Fullout Boy and True Or False were slow out. National Diver crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Surround Sound and Miss Icy Cool. Surround Sound, Campaspe Jill and Mexican Wave collided approaching the first turn checking Campaspe Jill. Surround Sound checked off the heels of Mexican Wave on the first turn checking Fullout Boy, Campaspe Jill and Natural Queen. Natural Queen raced wide as a result. Campaspe Jill and Mexican Wave collided on the third turn checking Mexican Wave and Fullout Boy. Mexican Wave and Fullout Boy collided approaching the home turn.
