Harnett Bale and Lori Jackson collided on the first turn. That Was Awesome galloped on the heels of Midori Ash on the first turn checking Hello Newman. That Was Awesome, Hello Newman and Suron Express collided approaching the second turn. That Was Awesome and Hello Newman collided on the second turn. That Was Awesome and Suron Express collided entering the back straight. A swab sample was taken from Midori Ash, the winner of the Event. Following the running of the Event, Sinner (weight 29.0 kls) and Worthy Memory (weight 30.4 kls) trialled over 518 metres starting from Boxes 1 and 3 respectively. Worthy Memory led all the way at the sectional times of 5:04: 17.93: 30.14 at a margin of 1188 lengths at the finish.

Moonambel Power, Sianna Way, Barbies Galore and Liquid Rush were slow out. Moonambel Power and Lansley Blue collided soon after the start. Barbies Galore and Liquid Rush collided soon after the start. Sianna Way checked off the heels of Lansley Blue on the first turn causing Sianna Way to brush the running rail. Brookside Bullet and Riverdale Katie collided on the first turn. Moonambel Power checked off the heels of Riverdale Katie on the first turn. Barbies Galore raced wide approaching the second turn. Lansley Blue and Liquid Rush collided on the second turn. Lansley Blue checked off the heels of Moonambel Power on the third turn checking Gomez Jackson, Barbies Galore and Liquid Rush. Brookside Bullet eased on the home turn checking Moonambel Power. Moonambel Power and Lansley Blue collided entering the home straight. Sianna Way and Liquid Rush collided entering the home straight. Brookside Bullet was vetted following the Event and after being revetted, Dr. Michael Bell, the Club's Veterinary Surgeon, reported that he could find no injury apparent with the greyhound. Stewards charged Brookside Bullet under AGRR 80.2 for failing to pursue the lure with due commitment on the home turn. After taking evidence from Trainer, Tina Womann, acting on their own observations and viewing the official video film, the Stewards found Brookside Bullet guilty as charged. Acting in accordance with AGRR 81.1, the Stewards will stand Brookside Bullet down from competing for 28 days at The Meadows only and will require the greyhound to perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will again be accepted. In assessing this matter, the Stewards took into consideration that the greyhound had been placed on Satisfactory Trials in accordance with AGRR 85 at its previous starts at Warrnambool on 26 July, 2000 and Geelong on 6 April, 2001 where it was established that the greyhound had cramped during its performances.

Bellisima was very slow out. Foster's Gypsy was slow out. Megmysta and Billie Rose collided on the first turn. Foster's Gypsy checked off the heels of Megmysta on the first turn. Bellisima checked off the heels of Slabovic on the second turn. Sure Reward and Dark Rahni collided on the third turn. Bellisima galloped on the heels of Slabovic on the third turn causing Slabovic to fall. Slabovic was vetted following the Event and Dr. Michael Bell, the Club's Veterinary Surgeon, reported that the greyhound had a fractured left radius and ulna. Slabovic was subsequently euthenased.

Bonnie Streak was slow out. Sweet Liberty, Chaucer Bale and Davian collided soon after the start. Westar Wizard and Scorpion collided soon after the start. Sweet Liberty, Chaucer Bale and Lenton Brae collided approaching the first turn checking Sweet Liberty which hit the running rail and stumbled as a result. Chaucer Bale, Davian and Lenton Brae collided on the first turn causing Bonnie Streak to race wide. Sweet Liberty was vetted following the Event and Dr. Michael Bell, the Club's Veterinary Surgeon, reported that he could find no injury apparent with the greyhound. A swab sample was taken from Westar Wizard, the winner of the Event.

Honcho Memory and Spotted Jagga were slow out and collided soon after the start. Skinny Horis and Farloe's Rose collided soon after the start. Spotted Jagga checked off the heels of Droopy's Rocket approaching the first turn.

Hey Brother and Extra Prince were slow out. Black Jagga crossed to the rails soon after the start severely checking Draco Star and Hey Brother which checked Bev's Charlie as a result. Draco Star and Hey Brother collided on the first turn causing Hey Brother to race wide. Black Jagga and Extra Prince collided on the third turn checking both greyhounds. Black Jagga and Extra Prince collided approaching the home turn.

Rose Of Sorrento and Token Charlie were slow out. Token Charlie and Sara Magee collided soon after the start. Random Flyer, Sara Magee and Millstreet Eire collided on the first turn checking Token Charlie and Sara Magee. Rose Of Sorrento hit the running rail on the first turn checking Token Charlie.
