Ripa and Rambler's Rhode were slow out. Ranchress and Hope Floats collided soon after the start checking Cherry Jackson. Rambler's Rhode checked off the heels of Devon Dream approaching the first turn. Ranchress checked off the heels of Top End Lad on the first turn and raced wide checking Hope Floats and Cherry Jackson. Ripa raced wide on the first turn.
