Steward's Report

P Desmond, trainer of Baffle Plate redeclared a new weight of 32.5kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Baffle Plate last raced at 31.2kgs.

Pyrenees Grand and Baffle Plate were quick to begin.

Baffle Plate crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Toy Tsunami, Dyna Andy, Why Not Oscar and Ready Jet Go. Ready Jet Go, Why Not Oscar and Dyna Andy collided on the first turn checking Dyna Andy. Why Not Oscar checked off Ready Jet Go entering the home straight. Pyrenees Grand, Ice Cossack and Princess Mogambo collided in the home straight. Dyna Andy checked off Ready Jet Go approaching the winning post.

Baffle Plate was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left shoulder and the right thigh. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to handler L Wright regarding his difficulty in boxing the greyhound Why Not Oscar. Stewards directed that Why Not Oscar be boxed first in future events.
