Junebug was quick to begin. Hoi Polloi was slow to begin. Convoy, Racing Ruby, Chief Winslow and Junebug collided soon after the start checking Racing Ruby and Chief Winslow. Racing Ruby and Chief Winslow collided approaching the first turn checking Racing Ruby. Winter Time and Convoy collided on the first turn. Chief Winslow, Hoi Polloi and All Over collided on the first turn checking All Over. Chief Winslow and Hoi Polloi collided approaching the home turn. Winter Time and Convoy collided on the home turn checking Convoy. Convoy galloped on the heels of Winter Time on the home turn severely checking both greyhounds. Winter Time and Racing Ruby raced wide on the home turn.
