A pre-race sample was taken from Dyna Geldof prior to kennelling upon arrival at the course.
Avondale Porche was quick to begin. Maximus Glider was slow to begin. Mepunga Moss, Keybow, Bit Berger and Dyna Geldof collided soon after the start, checking Keybow. Bit Berger crossed to the rail approaching the first turn, checking Mepunga Moss and Keybow. Explosive Angel, Wynburn Wizrd, Bit Berger and Dyna Geldof collided approaching the first turn, checking Explosive Angel, Wynburn Wizard, BIt Berger, Mepunga Moss and Keybow; Mepunga Moss raced wide as a result approaching the second turn. Wynburn Wizrd checked off Maximus Glider approaching the second turn.
