A pre-race sample was taken from Wind Whistler prior to kennelling upon arrival at the course.
Wind Whistler, Whodat Knockin' and Recruitment were slow to begin. Strange Wish crossed to the rail soon after the start, checking Allen Malik and Survivor Sal. Mepunga Fearon, Survivor Sal, Allen Malik and Strange Wish collided approaching the first turn, checking Strange Wish, Mepunga Fearon, Wind Whistler, Allen Malik and severely checking Survivor Sal. Mepunga Fearon checked off Wind Whistler approaching the second turn. Allen Malik checked off Wind Whistler on the second turn. Survivor Sal and Allen Malik collided entering the home straight.
