Steward's Report
Cruising Thyme was slow to begin. Deep Rock and Berri Lass collided soon after the start checking Deep Rock. Cruising Thyme and Lilac Evening collided approaching the first turn. Wasem Twist and Ladies Kay collided approaching the home turn severely checking Ladies Kay. Berri Lass galloped on the heels of Ladies Kay approaching the home turn. All Vapour and Hermoso collided approaching the home turn. Cruising Thyme and Berri Lass collided on the home turn checking Lilac Evening and severely checking Cruising Thyme and Berri Lass; Cruising Thyme stumbled as a result. Wasem Twist veered out and marred the running of All Vapour several times in the home straight severely checking All Vapour, Hermoso and Wasem Twist. Wasem Twist galloped on the heels of Hermoso in the home straight severely checking Hermoso and Wasem Twist; Wasem Twist stumbled as a result.
Cruising Thyme was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right shoulder. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Berri Lass was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to its left thigh and right shoulder. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Wasem Twist was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left shoulder. A 10 day stand down down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. B. Slade, the trainer of the greyhound Wasem Twist regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Wasem Twist with marring. Mr. B. Slade pleaded guilty to the charge. Wasem Twist was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
