Big Will was slow to begin. Roadie and Che Road collided soon after the start, checking both greyhounds. Magic Kara crossed to the rail soon after the start, checking Nikita's Nitro, Hippy Jet and Che Road. Che Road and Roadie collided at the 300m mark. Star Lomar and Hippy Jet collided at the 300m mark. Nikita's Nitro and Roadie collided several times from the 250m mark until the 200m mark. Big Will and Hippy Jet collided at the 150m mark. Roadie crossed to the outside approaching the 100m mark, checking Hippy Jet. Big Will checked off Son Tantra at the 100m mark. Roadie eased at the 50m mark.

Stewards spoke to G Edwards, the handler of the greyhound Roadie regarding the greyhounds racing manners at the 50m mark. Roadie was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained lower back soreness, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Roadie with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). G Edwards pleaded guilty to the charge, Roadie was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
