Steward's Report
The start was delayed by approximately one minute due to holding for a thoroughbred race at Riverton.
Bold Bert was slow to begin.
Bold Bert (severely checked and fell approaching the home turn), underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported.
Darra Ruby (severely checked and lost ground approaching the home turn, subsequently tailing off), underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right back muscle injury. A 60 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. L. Scott regarding the racing manners of Hardstyle Ruby on the home turn. After hearing submissions from Mr. Scott, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, Stewards took no further action.
A post-race sample was taken from Polly Rocket - the winner of the event.
