A pre-race sample was taken from Bold Contender.
Magic Ride and Yeah So What were quick to begin. My Own Way was slow to begin.
Kraken Missiles was severely checked and almost fell when approaching the turn into the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a strain to the right monkey muscle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
My Own Way faltered when rounding the turn into the home straight and tailed off. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a fractured right hock. A 90 day stand down period was imposed.
Following the running of this event, Stewards inspected the track at the home turn and deemed it suitable for racing.
