Keratin was quick to begin. Don't Tell Shell, Missin' The Bug and Coomera Lad were slow to begin.
Coomera Lad (lost ground on the first turn and continued to lose ground for the remainder of the event) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have left and right carpal sprains. A 21 day stand down period was imposed.
A post-race sample was taken from Keratin - the winner of the event.
