Steward's Report
Due a change in Sky Channel programming, the start time for this event was rescheduled to 4.07pm.
Starlight Ruby and Tycoon Diamond were slow to begin. Kalimna Star and Demolition Guy collided soon after the start checking Demolition Guy. Tycoon Diamond checked off Ello Reg on the first turn checking Demolition Guy. Tycoon Diamond checked off Bramwell Brown entering the back straight. Ello Reg and Tycoon Diamond collided on the second turn checlking Ello Reg. Madiba Man tired over the concluding stages.
Madiba Man was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound had a torn pad on the right wrist and signs of post race distress. A stand down period of 7 days was imposed. Stewards spoke to Trainer D. Coleman in regards to the performance of Madiba Man. Ms Coleman stated that it was the greyhounds first attempt at the 500m and she was of the opinion that the greyhound failed to run out the distance. Ms Coleman further stated that it was her intention at this stage to keep the greyhound racing over shorter distances.
