Miss Karma was slow to begin. Willow Princess and Khandi Khandi collided soon after the start. Miss Karma and Babagoi collided approaching the first turn. Andy's Delight and Willow Princess collided approaching the first turn. Mr Peechelba, Andy's Delight and Willow Princess collided approaching the first turn, checking Andy's Delight and Mr Peechelba and causing Mr Peechelba to contact the running rail. Mr Peechelba checked off Andy's Delight on the first turn. 

Mr Peechelba was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a muscle rupture to the left flexor muscle, a 30 day stand down period was imposed.

Fat Garry, Zafonic Josh, Class Aire and Jumangi Spur were slow to begin. Highfield Zibia, Zafonic Josh and Class Aire collided approaching the first turn, checking Zafonic Josh and Highfield Zibia. Red Caboose and Faint Glimpse collided on the first turn. Highfield Zibia and Class Aire collided approaching the home turn, checking Highfield Zibia. Red Caboose and Fat Garry collided entering the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mr D. Boots, handler of Senor Ozzie regarding the greyhounds improved performance. Mr Boots stated that he had been trialling well prior to his first up run last start in which he was disappointed with but given todays quick beginning he was not suprised how much the greyhound improved. Stewards noted his explanation.

Balleer Glory was quick to begin. Singed Follicles, Code Breaker and Diamond Hustler were slow to begin. Claretown Tex went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin. Black Oyster checked off Balleer Glory approaching the home turn, checking Deejay's Mate and Code Breaker and causing Black Oyster to tail off as a result. Mr Genetic raced wide approaching the home turn, checking Balleer Glory. Balleer Glory raced wide in the home straight.

Black Oyster was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a grade 1 muscle strain to the left shoulder and a back muscle tear, a 30 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr. T. Sharp regarding his difficulty in boxing the greyhound Claretown Tex.  Stewards directed that Claretown Tex to be boxed first in future events.

Addy's Delight and Stylish Ruler were slow to begin. Black Vegas, Bet Bet May, Super Indigo, Addy's Delight, My Senorita and Stylish Ruler collided on the first turn, checking Black Vegas, Bet Bet May, Super Indigo, Addy's Delight and My Senorita. My Senorita and Bet Bet May collided approaching the home turn. Addy's Delight and Tiza Dee collided approaching the winning post.

Black Vegas was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a strained left shoulder, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Dynamic Groover and Flying Alf were slow to begin. Brass Knocka and Brumby Boy collided soon after the start. Brass Knocka checked off Stylish Fantasy approaching the first turn. Flying Alf and Smashing Century collided on the first turn. Brass Knocka, Smashing Century and Flying Alf collided approaching the home turn, causing Smashing Century to fall. Brass Knocka and Dynamic Groover collided on the home turn. 

Smashing Century was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a mild shoulder strain, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Bar's Open was quick to begin. Escapade Jess and Cosmic Jim were slow to begin. Fear Her and Bass Girl collided soon after the start. Fear Her, Bass Girl and Special Lies collided on the first turn, checking Fear Her, Cosmic Jim and Special Lies. Bar's Open faltered approaching the home turn and lost considerable ground as a result. Aunty Janet, Railway Smokey and Bass Girl collided on the home turn. Aunty Janet and Bass Girl collided in the home straight. 

Bar's Open was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a sore right wrist and strained shoulders, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Special Lies was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained shoulder strain and soreness to both hips, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Super Tart was quick to begin. Em Jo Lew and Oriental Tsunami were slow to begin. Em Jo Lew and Merlot Magic collided soon after the start. Em Jo Lew, Merlot Magic and Surfing Minnie collided approaching the first turn, checking Merlot Magic. Em Jo Lew checked off Surfing Minnie on the first turn, checking Oriental Tsunami. Em Jo Lew checked off Freckle's Way approaching the home turn. Ello Reg and Freckle's Way collided on the home turn. Oriental Tsunami and Merlot Magic collided on the home turn. Em Jo Lew and Freckle's Way collided in the home straight. Em Jo Lew, Freckle's Way and Oriental Tsunami collided approaching the winning post, checking Freckle's Way.

Em Jo Lew was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained spike wounds to the right paw and a strained back muscle, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Mister Sunraysia was quick to begin. Kalimna Elite was slow to begin. Digger's Beach, Stylish Shazz and Blue Mayhem collided soon after the start, checking Stylish Shazz and Blue Mayhem. Kalimna Elite and Diggers Beach collided on the first turn. Stylish Shazz and Blue Mayhem collided on the first turn. Bonnie's Revenge checked off Mister Sunraysia approaching the home turn. Digger's Beach checked off Kalimna Elite in the home straight, checking Dyna Andy. Turbine raced wide in the home straight. Bonnie's Revenge and Stylish Shazz collided several times in the home straight.

Mr D. Boots, trainer of Bowser Koopa redeclared a new weight of 37.1kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Bowser Koopa last raced at 36.4kg.

Ninja Zorro was slow to begin. Fredwyn, Bowser Koopa, Acca Believe It and Ninja Zorro collided on the first turn, checking Bowser Koopa and severely checking Acca Believe It. Fredwyn and Ninja Zorro collided approaching the home turn. Sharina Bear and Ninja Zorro raced wide in the home straight.

Taminick Girl was quick to begin. Python Jackson and Lil' Swiss were slow to begin. Python Jackson and Lil' Swiss collided approaching the first turn, checking Lil' Swiss. Python Jackson, Lil' Swiss and Twenty Two Blue collided on the first turn, checking Python Jackson and Twenty Two Blue. Broon Hilda checked off Taminick Girl on the first turn.
