Steward's Report
Mr W McMahon, trainer of Dr. Hamish redeclared a new weight of 32.4kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Dr.Hamish last raced at 31.2kg.
Mercury Benz and Arvo's Violet were slow to begin. Mercury Benz and Puzzle 'Em collided soon after the start checking Mercury Benz. Little Myah and Dr. Hamish collided on the first turn checking Dr. Hamish, Ragtime Lucy and Puzzle 'Em. Ragtime Lucy and Puzzle 'Em collided approaching the home turn. Ragtime Lucy galloped on the heels of Dr. Hamish approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds; Ragtime Lucy raced wide as a result. Mercury Benz raced wide on the home turn. Radley's Reality eased in the home straight.
Stewards spoke to Mrs. W. Duve, trainer of the greyhound Radley's Reality regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Radley's Reality was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to it's right shoulder. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Radley's Reality with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mrs W. Duve pleaded guilty to the charge. Radley's Reality was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
A sample was taken from Arvo's Violet, the winner of the event.
