Vlasta Bale (marred Xavion Bale) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hock injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr. C. Hudson regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123, Vlasta Bale was charged with marring. Mr Hudson pleaded guilty to the charge, Vlasta Bale was suspended for 28 days at Geelong only and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Mr. K. Howat was issued with a warning pursuant to GAR 156(f)(ii) for negligence, in that the incorrect race rug was placed on Who's Nanna Pat.

A post-race sample was taken from Who's Nanna Pat - placed second in the event.

A sample was taken from Dante Bale at the trainer's kennel earlier today.

Ollie's Ruben – Late scratching at 2.30pm due to weight variation (GAR 101). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr C. Grenfell was fined $100.

Ventura Bale and Go Gizmo Go were quick to begin.

Dante Bale (checked and contacted rail turning out of back straight) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a laceration to the left stifle. A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race sample was taken from Smiling Quartile.

Deputy Fred – Late scratching at 11.16am when Trainer Mr Jye Formosa reported the greyhound to have a foot injury (GAR 76). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 19(3)(w) before any future nominations will be accepted.

Good Manner was quick to begin. Forever Ned and Willa Bale were slow to begin.

Good Manner raced wide from the turn out of the home straight to the turn out of the back straight.

Blue Tick Maya, Infra Lady and Mr. Buck Lee were quick to begin. Leena Bale was slow to begin.

Infra Lady crossed inwards at the start. Tails Bale, Mr. Buck Lee and Forbes Delight raced wide in the home straight.

Leena Bale (racing manners) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and after being revetted was found to have no injury apparent.  Stewards spoke to Representative - Mr. M. Johnson, regarding the racing manners of Leena Bale entering the home straight and again approaching the winning post.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, Leena Bale was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Johnson pleaded not guilty to the charge. Leena Bale was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Geelong only and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted. 

Magic Eclipse, Latham Bale and My Mate Martha were quick to begin.

Harry Hotcakes, Aeroplane Astro and More Than Ever were quick to begin.

A sample was taken from Tessa Orchid upon arrival at the course.

Stewards requested that My Girl Rissa (checked approaching the turn out of the back straight) undergo a post-race veterinary examination.  As the Representative - Mr. T. Galea had left the course, Stewards directed that My Girl Rissa undergo a veterinary examination at Healesville on 6 September, 2023.

Supplementary Report 6/9/23: My Girl Rissa, underwent a post–race veterinary examination at Healesville and was found to have a left carpal sprain. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
