Steward's Report
Remo Adalli – Late scratching at 10.15am due to the greyhound being on season GAR 77. A 28 day stand down period was imposed.
Aston Lynda went up with the lids and was very slow to begin.
Grand Stride underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 3- no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mr Peter Barry regarding the racing manners of Grand Stride over the concluding stages of the event. After hearing submissions from Mr Barry, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, the Stewards issued a warning to connections.
Son Of Duke underwent a post–race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mr Peter Barry regarding Son Of Duke’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, Son Of Duke was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Barry pleaded guilty to the charge. Son Of Duke was suspended for 28 days at Healesville and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
