The closing time of kennelling was altered in accordance with GAR 86 due to the late arrival of trainers who experienced significant delays on–route to the track. The kennels closed at 1.42pm. 

Intrepid Bale, Mad Kev and Primo Tonic were slow to begin.

Xisco Bale was severely checked soon after the start, lost ground over the concluding stages and underwent a post-race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to kennel representative Mr. Jake Loverso regarding the racing manners of Xisco Bale in the back striaght. After hearing submissions from Mr. Loverso, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, Stewards took no further action. 

Rough Gem, Mcnulty and Hold Me Closer were quick to begin.  Star Stay was slow to begin.

Big Smoke Fox fell in the catching pen. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a torn nail on the right hind. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Zipping Cardi, Frankly Fever and Best Of Colour were quick to begin. Lady Montana and Vincent Bale were slow to begin. 

Dark Before Dawn was severely checked turning out of the front straight, subsequently stumbled and lost ground for the remainder of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent injury. Stewards spoke to kennel representative Mr. Mark Faulkner regarding Dark Before Dawn's overall performance in the event. In accordance with GAR 122, the Stewards requested Mr. Faulkner to report as soon as practicable anything that may have affected the running of Dark Before Dawn in the event, which was not noted by Stewards during or immediately after the event.

Zipping Cardi stumbled approaching the turn out of the back straight and lost ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent injury. 

Cyclone Poppy was quick to begin. Bruce Intention and Twenty Deep were slow to begin.

Knight Cuddle was quick to begin.

A post–race sample was taken from Utrillo Bale – the winner of the event.

Dundee Coco underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.. Stewards spoke to Mr. Geoffrey Scott-Smith regarding the greyhound pulling up prior to the return gate and failing to enter the catching pen. Stewards noted that Dundee Coco had failed to enter the catching pen at Warragul on 14/12/2023 and was issued with a warning on that occasion. Acting in accordance with GAR 129, and being mindful of the safety of Dundee Coco, other greyhounds in the race, staff, and participants, Stewards were not satisfied with the performance. Dundee Coco was placed on a Satisfactory Trial under GAR 129, and pursuant to GAR 132, with the condition that the greyhound must run past the return gate in order to clear the Satisfactory Trial, before any further nominations are accepted.

Dundee Rebel and Hot Scotch were quick to begin.

Dutch Impact underwent a post-race veterinary examination (trainer's request) and was found to have a laceration on the left flank. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. 

An out of competition sample was taken from Aston Costello on 21/02/2024, pursuant to GAR 139.

Serene Equity was quick to begin. Lochan Aura was slow to begin.

Bingo Beanie - New declared weight of 34.5kg, last raced at 35.7kg. 

A pre-race sample was taken from Cindy Keeping. 

Hocus Pocus was quick to begin. Reiko Slater and Underway were slow to begin. 

Bingo Beanie collided with Underway and faltered turning out of the front straight subsequently pulling up. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a right hock fracture. A 90 day stand down period was imposed. 

Following the running of this event, Stewards inspected the track and were satisfied it was suitable for racing.

Wild Cuddle was quick to begin.

Flying Birdie faltered approaching the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a right hock fracture. A 90 day stand down period was imposed.

Teddy Box (trainer's request) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a dislocated toe on the left hind. A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

General Payton was checked and fell on the first turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a left back muscle injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
