Steward's Report
In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed ‘Heat Affected’. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 22.4 degrees and the kennel temperature was 17.5 degrees. Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue, as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.
During kennelling, Stewards conducted a carpark check on the vehicles of all trainers engaged in today’s meeting. Stewards were satisfied that all transport had adhered to the GRV Hot Weather Policy and the GRV Transportation of Greyhounds Policy.
Wardan Jilungin and Spirit Of Panama were quick to begin. Rapid Paws and Dinosaur Deano were slow to begin.
Hartland Duke (lost ground approaching the home turn) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left wrist sprain. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Kennel representative Mr J.Formosa regarding Hartland Duke overall performance in the event. In accordance with GAR 122, the Stewards requested Mr Formosa to report as soon as practicable anything that may have affected the running of Hartland Duke in the event, which was not noted by Stewards during or immediately after the event.
