Eagles Fly Alone and Galloping Patch were slow to begin.
Winter Chana turned it's head inwards and visibly eased in the home straight. Underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mr. Dean Bailey regarding Winter Chana's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, Winter Chana was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Bailey pleaded guilty to the charge. Winter Chana was suspended for three months at all tracks and must perform two Satisfactory Trials in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
