Steward's Report
In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed ‘Heat Affected’. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 31.0 degrees and the kennel temperature was 16.8 degrees. Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue, as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.
During kennelling, Stewards conducted a carpark check on the vehicles of all trainers engaged in today’s meeting. Stewards were satisfied that all transport had adhered to the GRV Hot Weather Policy and the GRV Transportation of Greyhounds Policy.
Myrinong Stitch and Flagpole were quick to begin. Zipping Kutcher was very slow to begin (5 lengths).
Zipping Kutcher (box manners) underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr D.Klemke regarding the racing manners of Zipping Kutcher at box rise. After hearing submissions from Mr Klemke, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, the Stewards issued a warning to connections.
Where To Next (racing manners entering the home straight) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have thumps. No stand down period was imposed.
